- Diseases ranging from Alzheimer's and Parkinson's to schizophrenia and bipolar disorder will be shown to be caused by infectious agents that take advantage of genetic predisposition, says psychiatrist E. Fuller Torrey, president of the Treatment Advocacy Center. Researchers will be surprised to find that many of those infectious agents are being transmitted from animals to humans. As a result, it will be uncommon to keep cats, birds or hamsters as pets - but we'll still have dogs around, because they've been "man's best friend" for so long that we've already adjusted to their infectious agents.
- International terrorism will be brought under control because governments will realize counterterrorism is primarily a police function rather than a job for the military, says Ronald Noble, the secretary-general of Interpol. Passports and IDs will be linked to a global monitoring system, much as credit cards are today. "People will no longer be able to travel and engage in transactions with anonymity," thanks to surveillance and biometrics, he says. All this will pose "thorny issues" for a post-privacy era.
- Several essayists said water will become as big a resource issue as petroleum is today. "We cannot go green without thinking blue," former White House chief of staff Leon Panetta and former Energy Secretary James Watkins say. Norman Borlaug, father of the "Green Revolution" in agriculture, says there will have to be a "Blue Revolution" to provide enough water for the planet's burgeoning population. Thus, cleaning up the oceans and providing fresh water should rank right up there with controlling greenhouse gases

My favorite extracurricular activity
My favorite extracurricular activity is basketball. I started playing this sport for as long as I can remember. I was raised into a family of athletes. My brothers played basketball and soccer while my sisters played kickball. I refused to play neither basketball nor soccer. I was always a laid back kid who only interest was to go out and have fun with my friends. I never thought of me not picking a sport would affect my relationship with my family. As the years went by I noticed my brothers and sisters were avoiding me. They would go out and forget about me. I remember when I was only 6 and it was my oldest sister graduation from high school day. Nobody would even look at me to say, " Chris, what do you want to weir" or " Chris, do you want to come to your sister graduation?" I was left home alone that day. To think my family would disown me in such a way. I new I had to do something to change all of this so I picked up a sport and the sport I choose was basketball. At first it was the most confusing sport I ever played. The thing that made it worst was the calls and the referee blowing that ignoring whistle in your ear each time you do something wrong. As I continue to play the sport I felt like giving up. I was not progress. I went to my brothers thinking they will help me but they refused. They turned me down. I was ranged with anger all I wanted to do was be better then them. As I kept on playing I got better and now I am playing for the collage of Staten Island high school.

Blogging in education final draft
Blogging in education
Blogging is beneficial to education. It benefits education by students can post their work and other students can respond and offer suggestions or comments, communicate with students, parents, or other teachers. Also teachers can post educational resources, blog and more. It is helpful to schools because Blogs provide teachers with an easy access online format to: reinforce strategies introduce new topics and concepts review important class points review for tests provide enrichment. Using Blogging in schools can help teachers and students as well. Blogging in schools helps them by developing an educational social network for them to developed skills for the 21st century. Blogging teach student the skills they need for their academic and professional life. Blogging also give students a voice in the world. It lets them express their feelings and ideas towards different topics.
Blogging is beneficial to education. It benefits education by saving money towards paper, printer and ink. For example students can post their work and other students can respond and offer suggestions or comments on their work. In a populated school there are about an average of 85% of students who have herd of or know how to blog. Also blogging help education by giving teachers an alternative to go to when they want to communicate with students and their parents. Blogging is beneficial to education in a fascinating way. First grade students in Atlanta are already blogging. They are learning how to post, comment on older student work, learn how to pronouns, and even type words by blogging. As you can see blogging/blogs help students in education.
In my opinion blogs/blogging is more beneficial to teachers because blogs provide teachers with an easy access online format to create and post new strategies to other teacher for their opinion (peer editing). Also teachers are able to give home work and introduce new topics to student so that they can be aware of the upcoming lesson. Using blogs teachers can review important class points, and give student a wide variety of links for students to review for test, quizzes, finals, and even regents. This is a quote from a loving mother which happens to be a teacher "Blogging has given my six and seven-year olds a window to the world. They see themselves as part of a global community-a community that shares. This international audience gives my students a purpose and they are motivated to do their best writing on their blog. Kathy Cassidy". As you can see this quote shows the true meaning of blogging in a teacher point of view.
Blogging in schools help students to "think and write more critically", says an Australian researcher "and can help draw out people who would otherwise not engage in debate". Blogging in school developed an educational social network for them to developed skills for the 21 century. Blogging helps student communicate outside the boundaries of the classroom and the institution, and they like that. These web-based forums for discussing ideas, experiences or opinions allow students to discuss publicly what they are studying with other students and experts outside their own university. Blogging also increases student’s motivation for reading. Students will happily spend a lot of time browsing through fellow student posts because to them it is interesting. Also students prefer to read other student work. Mainly the once they know compare to a teacher they barely know. Many have linked their friends onto their blog roll for quick access. Many make comments, often in their own language.
Blogging is beneficial to education, It is helpful to schools, and Using blogging in schools help teachers and students. In my opinion blogging makes the world easier for teacher, students, and local people.
